Nirvana Brewery - Traditional Pale Ale AF Beer 134

Image
Pour: Nice caramel Colour with a decent small head.   Smell:  overly sweet malty smell and to be honest does not smell very pleasant. Taste:  well there is lots of malt and  then a sweet finish.   Overall:  Not really a fan of this one its a bit too malty for my liking. Score: 4/10 Review by Tim Jenkins

Nirvana Brewery - Classic IPA AF beer 133

Image
This is a new one from Nirvana for me the classic IPA. It pours a lovely golden colour and is very carbonated with a good stream of bubbles rising up through the glass.  Smells Tropical definitely hints of pineapple. The taste is very hoppy but leaves an artificial bitterness behind which seems to be a thing with a lot of the Non Alcoholic IPAs. 6/10 I shall hopefully be reviewing this again on 16th when I take part in the Nirvana virtual tastings .  Will be interesting to see if my opinion on this and the 5 other Nirvana beers changes when taking advice from a professional on how they should be tasted. This has lovely tropical smell to it.   The taste is tropical and very smooth.   It's very much along the lines of coast IPA.  I belive they are both brewed by De Proufbrouwerij in Belgium. Post by Tim Jenkins

First Chop - Yes IPA AF Beer 132

This Pours with a nice hazy IPA look.  The pour is very carbonated but soon settles down. Smells very much of tropical fruits. The taste starts tropical but then hits with quite a bit of bitterness which leaves a bit of strange aftertaste. 6/10 Post by Tim Jenkins

drynks smashed lager. #afbeer 131

I must say that I didn't agree with this company's choice of advertising technique at the end of last year and probably if I didn't get this in a mixed case I would have stayed away from thier beers for that reason.   But let's see what this beer is like.  First up I shall start with the bottle.  This is the 1st time I have seen a 660ml bottle in an alcohol free beer.   It pours with a nice Amber colour and frothy head.   Looks like any other lager out there.   Can clearly see a bit of carbonation in it too.  On the nose it has a bit of a sweet fruity aroma too it.   The taste you get a sweet hoppy flavour. Then a bit of a bitter Finish.  I'm not really a big lager drinker but as lagers go I quite enjoyed this one.   I did find it a little gassy for what I like and probably would only buy in smaller bottles in future.   Overall I would give this 6/10.    Post by Tim Jenkins
