Toast Ale - Lemongrass Lager

Image
Toast is a brewery with a mission. "A beer with more taste. A world without waste.". They have been taking surplus bread and using that to replace virgin barley in the brewing process. This means they use less land, water and energy, as well as avoiding carbon emissions. At the time of writing that have saved over 2 million slices of bread, 42 tonnes of CO2 emissions, 252,043 litres of water and reclaimed 171,848 square metres of land. Not only are they doing all of this, but all of their profits go to charity. They have 4 beers in their range and have added to this with 4 collaborations over last year. We're taking a look at their low alcohol Lemongrass Lager.  Brewery: Toast Ale Beer: Lemongrass Lager Style: Lager Country: UK Other: Vegan friendly @HoppyAF 's thoughts First things first. Jump Ship Brewing Flying Colours Pale Ale

Image
Flying Colours is the 2nd beer from Jumpship Brewing.  A small Scottish brewery that only brews No/Low Alcohol beers.  Jumpship was set up by Sonja Mitchell in 2019 after she left her job in marketing . In Sonjas own words  “I love beer. I love sailing. I don’t like hangovers.”. Sonja gets to combine her 2 passions through Jumpship, with the beer they brew and the nautical flag themed art of the cans. After the success of their first beer Yardarm lager Jumpship decided to brew a 2nd beer. This first went out to a lucky selection of 100 people to get their feedback and after the great feedback and a little refining of the recipe Flying colours was born. Flying colours is described as "quite punchy with a kick of lime and luscious tropical fruit aromas" Brewery:       Jump Ship Brewing                Beer:      Flying Colours Style:              Pale Ale                                   Hops:            Armarillo,    El Dorado Country:        Scotland

Signature Brew: Lo-Fi

Image
Since 2011, Signature Brew have been creating award winning, music-inspired beers and collaborated with some of the world's best musicians. Over the years they have collaborated with artists including Alt-J, Mastodon and Enter Shikari. They work with the artist to decide what style suits them. It's a very hands on process, getting the artist to help the brewers to make the beer - and they love nothing more than to launch each unique beer with a secret show. Lo-Fi is Signature Brew's offering to the alcohol-free market. Signature Brew have used Simcoe hops from the USA to produce an unfiltered, hazy pale ale. There are some really sweet notes on the nose as you pour it and packing it out with Simcoe hops means you really get those pine and tropical flavours coming through. I feel a little bit that it's a shame it loses its head so quickly, but thankfully that doesn't take anything away from the   balance of citrus and pineapple flavours, almost grapefruit. I've h
